On February 26th the Zoning Review Board will vote on a change to the supportive housing Legislation. Currently, this kind of housing has to have a special use permit and in historic districts they are not allowed. If this new legislation was passed then all that is required is an administrative permit. This means they will go anywhere in the city.
Historic areas like ours will not have a say in where these shelters are be permitted. Please attend the meeting and stand against this change

If you are interested in this issue, please attend the meeting on Thursday, February 26th, 2009 at 5pm Atlanta City Hall South, 55 Trinity Avenue, SW, 2nd Floor in the Council Chambers. (Sidewalk repairs are being made on Trinity Street entrance, therefore if entrance is inaccessible, please enter on the Mitchell Street side).

================

NPU-V was in favor. Adair Park Today voted against. Councilperson Cleta Winslow stated she would vote against it.

Well , we lost our fight at the zoning board level, but the war is not over. For this ordinance to be put in effective it has to pass the city council. We are putting together a team of people to lead the fight. We are going team up with NPU -T . The team will need your help to send letters and call. So stay tuned.....

NPU -T needs You 2 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 6
It time to put the petal to the metal. We need you to call, write, go see (just kidding) the city council. We have to let them know what we think of this ordinance. I know most of you have not followed ordinance. I am attaching a letter from NPU T to the ZRB. This way you can be familiar with why we oppose this ordinance. Also here is a website where you can go to and make your feelings known. See how easy we made this for you.

Us the above link to make your feelings known to council.
