WEST END ATLANTA

Hi everyone! I've received an update on school tours - they are now FIRM for Tuesday, May 5th, from 10 AM - noon.

Khaatim S. El, our school board representative, has arranged these tours for interested parents and residents. We've had to postpone them several times, but this is the real deal FOR REAL!

If you are interested in coming, please let me know. We'd love to have a diverse group with lots and lots of questions.

Can you check with others in the neighborhood to see if they are available to participate in a schools tour on Tues., 5/5 from 10 - 12PM? The principals at M. Agnes Jones ES and Brown MS will be on hand to speak with parents and community members about each school and take everyone on a tour of the building.

Can you also see if anyone has any specific questions? We can pass those on to the schools so that they'll be prepared for questions and discussion.

I think it would be great to include Vonda (and other WEND Officers & Members); Kwabena (and other NPU Officers); and new residents and parents in West End. Will you post something to the WEND Blog or listserv? We probably should keep the group at no more than 10.

I'm still checking to see if we can stop by the HeadStart program at Dean Rusk for a few minutes.

Here's a possible schedule:

1. Meet at M. Agnes Jones 9:45AM (Welcome & Introductions)
2. Meet with Principal, Q & A, Tour School from 10:00 - 10:45AM
3. Leave M. Agnes Jones and stop at Dean Rusk from 10:45 - 11:00AM
4. Meet with Principal Underdue, Q & A, Tour School from 11:05 - 11:50AM
5. Debrief and Box lunches 11:50 - 12PM
