Hello All,

Great news the City of Atlanta Watershed Department has just confirmed (literally 5 minutes ago) that they can do the workshop in the park.

For all those who are interested, the Friends of the West End Park, has planned an EARTH DAY WORK DAY, FUN DAY and LEARNING DAY in the West End park on Saturday April 17, 2010. It will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Workshop will start at 11:00a.m. The Cost is $40.00 per Barrel.
It includes a copy of a powerpoint presentation, a brochure, a 55-gallon white barrel and painting supplies to paint the barrel. The barrels will be available to take with you.

If anyone else is interested please let me know so that I can relay that to the City.

OF COURSE Everyone is also invited to volunteer:
Activities planned: Park Cleanup, Installing Two Wooden Benches, Installing a mini-garden, Mulching trees and mulching the playground.

Activities for Children: Planting in the Garden, Assembling and Painting Garden Markers. Face Painting, and a visit from our Local Fire Station.

The Fire station will be speaking about fire safety, passing out smoke-alarms and scheduling appointment for those who will need help installing them in their homes.(Scheduled for 10:00 a.m.)

I look forward to seeing many of you in the Park at our 2nd Annual EARTH DAY Event.
