On Saturday, November 15 from 9:30 a.m. to Noon there will be a Community Gardening Fall Summit at the Good Shepherd Community Church, at 445 Lawton Street. This event is sponsored by the NPU-T Urban Agriculture Committee.

Anyone who belongs to a community garden, has been thinking about joining a community garden, wants to learn about organic gardening, or wants to find out how to start a community garden should attend!

Registration is free!

You will also learn about the Atlanta Local Food Initiative (ALFI); the UGA Urban Gardening Leadership Program; Atlanta Food Bank's Plant a Row for the Hungry Program; Organic Gardening; Community Gardens in Atlanta's Public Parks; and Rainwater Collection at home and in the garden.

There will be presentations from community gardens in the West End and NPU-T including: the neighborhood's oldest community garden - the Mother Clyde Memorial Community Garden; the neighborhood's newest community garden - the Good Shepherd Community Church Garden and Urban Farm; the neighborhood's smallest community garden - the Rose Circle Community Garden; and the neighborhood's only combined Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), edible schoolyard, and community garden urban agriculture program - the CVC Brown Middle School Urban Farm. Find out how to get involved with these community gardens!

The educational portion of the program will be followed by a potluck lunch at noon.

To register (remember, registration is free! ) just send an email to: debbie.zimmerman@gmail.com.
