Mary, I wont be able to be there but I will send out a general email. Maybe even a voicemail.

I chatted with Kathleen Jones for a couple of minutes today and I'm working on getting the names of people we can call and e-mail in support of the school. If anyone can make it to this meeting, they're really hoping for a good turnout so that the State Board of Education can see that we're dead serious about having this charter school in our neighborhood. Bring anyone that you can - if you have to bring your kids, bring your kids. Heck, they are the ones that will attend the school anyway! The ride offer still stands. If anyone wants to carpool, give me a call or drop me an e-mail - mrindlesbach at gmail.com (remove spaces and replace at with @). Thanks, everyone, for attending to this important matter!!!

We had a great turn out today, about 10 residents came out, including Asher. No vote was taken. The vote will be done on 4/1. I hope others will come out because some of the people who came today will not be able to come in April. We need to have a presence there. I think the bd was impressed.

Many, many thanks to all of our West End supporters who came out to the State Board of Education meeting yesterday! The number of people present on our behalf was impressive to everyone in the room, and the WEND contingent added much to that. Special thanks to Mary R. for "rallying the troops." As mentioned, the final vote is 4/1, so we will be doing all we can in the next three weeks to approach State Board members and let them know our perspective. Wish us luck, and we'll keep you posted!

I also wanted to say thank you. It was deeply moving to see so many supportive faces in the crowd. You guys REALLY made a difference yesterday. I think if we fight our hardest we'll get through this insanity and so that's what we'll do. We will be in touch about how you can help if you are interested. Most important is to bring out an even bigger crowd next time.
Thank you!!

P.S. Asher Mcbee is my new hero!!

Awww...Asher is your new hero, Dean??? I look forward to Kindezi School opening in the fall, and then soon enough, YOU will be ASHER'S new hero, I'm sure! I am so glad that Asher and I were able to attend the meeting. I was so impressed with the Kindezi representatives/supporters there; I had that feeling like I was on the winning team! We are more than happy to support the Kindezi School in any way that we can. Please let us know how we can help.

Peace,
beth mcbee

We need your help!

I'm now on the Kindezi board and I've been asked to help with gathering and compiling anecdotes, especially from potential parents, about how the Kindezi school's educational model will benefit their child/children so we can send them to the State Board of Education. For example, I'm excited about the 6:1 model because my child will get one-on-one student/teacher interaction that he wouldn't get in a traditional 20:1 ratio classroom. Even if you don't have kids, if you want to get in on supporting the school with an anecdote or letter, that would be fantastic! You can e-mail me at mrindlesbach at gmail.com (remove spaces and replace at with @) with your contact info; I'm going to send out more info early this week. We had over 25 potential parents sign up to help at the Parent Information Session last Thursday; let's keep the momentum going in the West End!

I will be attending the State Board of Education meeting next Wednesday, but unfortunately, I can't stay for the whole meeting as I'm going to have to take my son and I doubt his 2 1/2 year old self will make it for 3 hours! Last time I loaded up my car and went and if you'd like to go for the beginning, you're more than welcome to hitch a ride. Otherwise, MARTA does essentially drop you off in the building where the meeting is held. The meeting on 4/1 is our last chance to speak out as the vote will be taken on 4/2, so if there was ever a time to rally the troops, that time is now!

Thanks everyone for your support!
